Liverpool's Harvey Elliott reacts on Instagram after hearing Leeds United's appeal has failed Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott has said that he is ‘sorry’ after Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk’s appeal failed.

And when the news came out that Struijk would have to sit out for three matches, with his suspension upheld, Elliott sent a classy message on Instagram.

However, it will still be a blow for the Leeds defender to have to sit out, when it appeared he was set for a run of games.

Struijk’s challenge certainly didn’t appear to be particularly malicious, which makes the FA’s decision seem fairly harsh.

Elliott has already gone on record to state that he didn’t think that the Leeds man should have been sent off for his challenge, which caused him to need surgery on his ankle.

The Whites may now have to switch Luke Ayling into central defence for their game against Newcastle United on Friday evening.

Of course, Struijk’s absence will be a lot shorter than Elliott, who faces months on the sidelines.
