Harvey Elliott believes Cole Palmer is a better player than Florian Wirtz, with the Germany international set to join him at Liverpool this summer.
The Reds are closing in on a record deal for Wirtz worth around £116million.
The 22-year-old has been convinced to join Liverpool by manager Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes, with the club convinced the Bayer Leverkusen star will prove he is worth every penny.
However, Elliott believes Palmer is better than Wirtz, having picked the Chelsea player over his future team-mate in a 'winner stays on' game.
Elliott is currently in action for England at the U21 Euros and was asked by UEFA to choose between players who have previously featured at the tournament.
Elliott also opted for AC Milan's Rafael Leao over his current Liverpool teammate Ryan Gravenberch, before opting for Palmer over Wirtz.
"It's just a situation that me and the team have to have a conversation about because I'm coming into an age now where I'm 22, I'm going to be 23 next season," he said.

"I don't really want to be wasting years of my career because it's a short career.
If that's to go somewhere else, then it's a decision that I'm going to have to make and I just need to see what happens.

"Nothing makes me want to leave.
But most importantly, it's just about what's best for my career."
Elliott made just six starts across all competitions last season and has been linked with the likes of Brighton, West Ham and Borussia Dortmund.
