Harvey Elliott has reached out to Kostas Tsimikas online amid uncertainty around the duo’s respective futures at Liverpool beyond the summer window.
Both players struggled to make an impact last term during the Reds’ Premier League title charge, and rumours around their exits have been rife this summer with Football Insider recently revealing that Elliott is being targeted by former club Fulham.
Sources have told Football Insider that Brighton are also targeting Elliott, while former scout Mick Brown also told Football Insider on 15 July that Newcastle and Tottenham have both joined the race to sign Elliott this summer.
The arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth could also force a left-back exit out of Anfield after former scout Brown recently revealed to Football Insider that Nottingham Forest are plotting a move to sign Tsimikas, with the Reds happy to cash in, while the ‘Greek Scouser’ has also been courted by newly-promoted Leeds United ahead of a potential transfer.

The duo’s futures at Liverpool are seemingly yet to be fully decided, but neither started in the Reds’ last pre-season friendly against Yokohama F.Marinos, instead coming on just after the hour mark.
Elliott moved to share a heartfelt message to his Greek international teammate on his Instagram story (Wednesday, 31 July) as both players potentially anticipate leaving the club this summer, tagging Tsimikas and writing a red heart emoji.

Football Insider verdict
Football Insider revealed in April that Elliott’s priority is to remain at Liverpool ahead of next season, but he has been frustrated with his lack of action at the club, so it certainly seems likely that he leaves soon to further his own career as the Reds spend big in the summer window.
He featured just 28 times in all competitions last season as Slot chose to stick by his more senior players, and his minutes seem unlikely to increase much further in the new campaign, so a move away would surely benefit all parties as he looks to progress in the years to come.

Joining a club like Brighton would definitely make more sense than either Newcastle or Spurs, as the Seagulls are known for their impressive development of young talent, and he would likely be one of the first names on the teamsheet as opposed to having to fight for his place at the other two bigger sides.
Andy Robertson has been linked with a Liverpool exit this summer, but Everton’s former chief, Keith Wyness, has also revealed to Football Insider that Slot sees value in keeping Robertson on Merseyside due to his experience.
If the Dutch boss gets his way and the Scot is not sold, then Tsimikas’ departure does feel like an almost foregone conclusion this summer due to Kerkez’ arrival, with either Leeds or Forest looking like ideal moves to continue his career in the Premier League.
