Harvey Elliott described it as a ‘wonderful feeling’ to sign his new five-year contract with Liverpool this week.

It was only 12 months ago that he penned his previous long-term deal, however the new contract comes as a reward for his growing importance to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Speaking to the official Liverpool website, the 19-year-old said: “We’ve already won so much and hopefully we can win so much more, so just to know that I am going to be here for a long time again – as I said, it’s always a wonderful feeling for myself and my family (and) being Liverpool supporters there is no better place in this world to be than playing for Liverpool and to put the shirt on and go out and play for the team and the fans.

A snapshot of the same is above, taken from Liverpool v Chelsea at Anfield last season.

Yet it was instead as a right-sided number eight that he flourished.

All three illustrated an ability to seamlessly rotate into one another’s positions, making them extremely difficult for opposition defenders to track.

However, it’s fair to say he remained on the periphery across the final months of the season despite his return, making just one appearance in the final three months of the season.
