Perhaps more importantly, the Reds championship win means they have now drawn level with Manchester United for the most titles in English football history.

With United sitting down in 14th place in the Premier League table, there is currently no debate about who is the better of the two teams.

However, in the wider context, which club is the biggest around is certainly a much closer debate.

“It’s doing what it does, it’s loading… ‘The title of the biggest club depends on how you define the biggest.

United are the biggest club, always will be I think, but Liverpool are the most successful club and that hurts.”

Measuring the biggest football club is always a difficult process, as there as many intangibles that come into play.

But whatever way you stack it, in England, United and Liverpool are certainly the two biggest.
