‘He is one of them’: Paul Robinson says Liverpool star gives opposition ‘a boost’ when he doesn't play

Liverpool have lost their fear factor in recent months and it’s a key reason why they won’t win the Premier League title.

For large periods of Jurgen Klopp’s reign at Anfield, Liverpool have stuck their chest out and have been the only team to get the better of Manchester City.

The word ‘monster mentality’ has been used during Liverpool’s success in winning the Premier League title and the European Cup.

Many players have epitomised that.

The ice-cool Virgil van Dijk, the consistent Alisson Becker and the world-class, Mohamed Salah.

When all those players depart Merseyside, they will rightfully go down as club legends.

For someone like Salah, that could happen as soon as this summer with Saudi Arabia calling.

Paul Robinson made it clear that the 31-year-old is a ‘world-class’ footballer, even if others think otherwise, as he told Stadium Astro.

Even during a campaign when people are questioning Salah, he has still scored 18 Premier League goals and supplied ten assists.

Regardless of Salah’s form, Robinson also made it clear that, when the Egypt star’s name isn’t on the teamsheet, it ‘boosts’ the opposition.

“Without a shadow of a doubt,” said Robinson about Salah being world-class.

“You look at the numbers.

I don’t get what you have to be, to be world-class, if Mo Salah isn’t and that importance of the one individual to that Liverpool team over recent times.

He is one of them players, when the teamsheet comes in before a game, you think Mo Salah isn’t in the team.

He is, without a doubt, world-class.”

It just goes to show when things don’t work out for you the first time, just go again and never let it bring you down.

That player who once donned the colours of Chelsea has now transformed into a Premier League great.

It remains to be seen if he will continue his career in English football beyond this season because he certainly has the qualities to do so.

As of this moment, he has 157 Premier League goals and 69 assists – stay on for a few more years and he will hit 200, easily!
