Even though Liverpool’s fanbase were rather miffed about missing out on the 24-year-old, it seems like Guehi has taken it on the chin.
He looks absolutely fine and impressive on the field; he has a good couple of weeks behind him on the performance side,” Tuchel said during his England press conference.
“He is the main driver of Crystal Palace’s success; he is the captain and the leader, and he played very impressively at the end of last season.
“He has continued like that in camp, and he handles it [his transfer situation] with respect and with and with brilliant attitude.”
Although Arne Slot may have missed out on his dream centre-back target this time around, that doesn’t mean Liverpool won’t go in for him again.
For now, Slot will likely stick it out and see if Ibrahima Konate can pick up his performance levels; if not, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Guehi getting linked with Anfield again in the lead-up to the January transfer window.
