Rasmus Hojlund is now planning to leaving Man United and join a new club after Ruben Amorim made clear he is not part of his plans, according to their former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that a number of Premier League clubs are interested in the 22-year-old.
However, the striker would prefer to return to Serie A in an attempt to reignite his career where he broke through with Atalanta before his move to Old Trafford.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Amorim is forcing Hojlund out of Man United and has told him to find a new club before the transfer deadline.
Fulham have been linked with signing Hojlund, while a return to Italy with the likes of AC Milan or Napoli remains a strong possibility at this stage.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 16 August that Hojlund is likely to leave United on loan as clubs are unlikely to stump up his £40million asking price.

Brown told Football Insider on 18 August that Hojlund is edging closer to leaving Man United with new bids to be accepted in the window’s closing stages.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Tottenham, West Ham and Aston Villa, explained that the striker is prioritising a return to Italy with talks ongoing behind the scenes.
“Rasmus Hojlund wants to go back to Italy,” he told Football Insider.
“There’s been interest from a few Premier League teams, but it’s the likes of Milan and Napoli which are more likely to get a deal done.
“They know what he can do over there, and he knows what he can do in that division.

“It’ll be familiar to him, it’s a bit of a step down from the Premier League and Man United.
“There’s not as much pressure on him to perform as there is here.
“So if he can go over there, start playing more regular football and find his feet, it’s ultimately a move that would work best for everybody.
“Because he doesn’t have a future at Man United or under Ruben Amorim.”
Amid ongoing talks about transfers in the closing stages of the window, the manager’s position at Old Trafford has also been subject to speculation.

This comes following their defeat on penalties following a 2-2 draw with League Two outfit Grimsby Town which saw them knocked out of the Carabao Cup.
Brown warned Football Insider in April that serious questions would be asked of Amorim as a result of his refusal to adapt his style of play when things aren’t working.
