Liverpool’s busy transfer window took another twist on Thursday, with Jarell Quansah edging closer towards the exit door.
Quansah is poised to make the switch to Bayer Leverkusen, as the Reds continue their business with the German side.
The two clubs have become familiar with each other in recent months, with negotiations for Florian Wirtz making acquaintances of the pair.
Having also signed Jeremie Frimpong from Leverkusen, Liverpool may have found themselves a new favourite sparring partner.
Frimpong’s signing was almost a full month ago now, though, and fans have grown restless as they wait for former teammate Wirtz to be formally announced as a Liverpool player.
Given the massive outlay Liverpool are putting out on Wirtz, it is no surprise it has taken a while to cross the T’s and dot the I’s.
But after seeing their new man land on Merseyside on Thursday, the plan for what fans are dubbing ‘Florian Friday’ has now been revealed.

Liverpool fans simply cannot wait to finally wrap up what could potentially be their most exciting signing of all time.
Few had expected Wirtz to join the Liverpool squad just a few short months ago.
But after some excellent work from Richard Hughes and the recruitment team, they have pulled off a real coup.

Due to the size of the deal, it has generated plenty of excitement in Germany, with reporters such as Sky’s Florian Plettenberg following it every step of the way.
The journalist re-posted a video on Thursday afternoon which showed a private jet carrying Wirtz landing at Manchester Airport.

And, later in the day, Plettenberg posted another update to confirm that the 22-year-old had passed the first part of his medical, with the second, decisive portion set to take place on Friday morning.
“Understand Florian Wirtz has successfully completed part 1 of his medical!” said the journalist just past 10pm.
“Part 2 will follow tomorrow morning – after that, he will sign his contract until 2030.
After jetting in on Thursday, it is possible that Wirtz has already completed his media duties as a new Liverpool player.
As a result, if all is well with the medical exams on Friday morning, there is a possibility that the German is officially announced on the same day.
It could be that Liverpool wait a little while longer too, although there is no real benefit in delaying.
With Reds supporters desperate to see their new man in a Liverpool kit, albeit last season’s offering, they’ll be hoping that Friday will indeed be a ‘Florian Friday’ after all.
From there, expect Liverpool to kick on again.
