Everton have been urged to end their interest in Southampton star Tyler Dibling as there is a better Man City alternative on the market.
The Toffees have made a number of bids for Dibling, with the latest being a £40million offer, which Southampton rejected.
Football Insider have exclusively revealed that the Saints are likely to accept offers of around £50m for their teenage sensation.
However, Everton have also been linked with Manchester City forward James McAtee, who is expected to leave the Etihad this summer.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that his old side should opt for McAtee over Dibling.

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Everton could secure the signing of McAtee for around £30m plus a sell-on clause, which is almost half the price it would take to bring in Dibling.

Nottingham Forest have already had a £25m bid rejected by Man City for their young star.
Wyness added that McAtee is likely to leave this summer, as Pep Guardiola wants to slim down his squad.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think that McAtee would have been a better target than Tyler Dibling.
“City are probably seeing the Dibling deal getting done, and thinking McAtee’s up there at the same level, so needs the same valuation.
“But, on the other hand, City want to slim down that squad.
I think he’ll get going for about £30m plus add-ons and a sell-on.
I do think he’ll be going.”

Meanwhile, Everton are plotting a move for Norwich right-back Kellen Fisher, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old made 41 appearances for the Canaries last season, assisting four times, and is now on the radar of a Toffees side in the midst of a full-scale overhaul under David Moyes.
Fisher is capable of playing at left-back and in the centre of midfield, but is most comfortable at right-back.
The young defender has been capped three times for England’s Under-20 side and came off the bench in the closing stages of Norwich’s opening day 2-1 loss to Millwall on Saturday, 9 August.
