Tottenham fans reacted all but unanimously in calling for chairman Daniel Levy to step aside after Arsenal sensationally hijacked their move for Eberechi Eze.
Spurs have already undergone plenty of change this summer, with Thomas Frank overseeing his first transfer window in charge.
While there have been positives since his arrival, James Maddison’s ACL injury in pre-season has left a glaring concern in attacking midfield.
The club had appeared to move quickly, edging towards an agreement to bring in Eze, but progress stalled this week as Crystal Palace wanted the playmaker available for their Europa Conference League tie against Fredrikstad.
That delay opened the door for Arsenal to re-enter the race for Eze, and their North London rivals have now stolen a march, swooping ahead in the battle for his signature.

Despite Tottenham appearing to close in on a deal, Arsenal have moved quickly in their pursuit of Eze after Kai Havertz suffered a knee injury on 20 August.
Within hours of that news, Fabrizio Romano reported that Arsenal had already agreed a fee with Crystal Palace for the 27-year-old.

He added that Eze “preferred” Arsenal over Spurs once the Gunners entered the race, and revealed Tottenham “never sealed” a deal despite being in advanced talks for several days.
Spurs fans had been convinced Eze was on his way after his gestures towards the Palace away supporters at Stamford Bridge, but talks seemed to not advance as quickly as some may have hoped.
Former Tottenham scout Mick Brown had told Football Insider back in July that Arsenal held an interest in Eze, though at that stage they were reluctant to meet his £68 million release clause.
With Spurs pressing ahead in recent days, Arsenal finally opted to meet Palace’s asking price, leaving their north London rivals scrambling for alternatives.

Tottenham have already faced embarrassment this window, most notably when Morgan Gibbs-White signed a new deal with Nottingham Forest after Forest’s owner Evangelos Marinakis threatened legal action over Spurs’ approach.
Now, after stalling on Eze and allowing Arsenal to swoop in, supporters have turned their frustration on Levy, demanding change at the top.
One fan wrote: “If we don’t get Eze then Levy needs to be forced out” while another added: “If they [Arsenal] win the league, Levy’s literally won them it.
