Enzo Maresca should be looking to dish out further punishments for Robert Sanchez after the Chelsea ace was sent off against Man United.
That is according to former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA official, Keith Hackett, who exclusively told Football Insider that the goalkeeper deserves to be fined after his reckless display away from home.
Bruno Fernandes reached a landmark 100 goals for United, with Casemiro doubling their lead on Saturday, 20 September, taking full advantage of the Blues’ sending off.
Peter Bankes was left with no other decision after Sanchez wiped out Bryan Mbeumo on the edge of the penalty area, and even despite a late goal from Trevoh Chalobah, the Blues fell to defeat.
Cole Palmer was replaced after 21 minutes, which was a huge concern, and it has now been confirmed that Chelsea’s most important star has been playing through a painful injury since the Club World Cup.
Now, Maresca has some important decisions to make moving forward, especially with his first-choice goalkeeper suspended for one game following his red-card offence against Man United.
While Casemiro was also sent off to even up the playing fields, United’s first-half goals were enough to cement the three points and not fall victim to a dramatic comeback from the Blues.

Maresca admitted that he wanted Mbeumo to score, wanting to take a one-goal deficit in the first five minutes rather than play with 10 men for the majority of the game.
That was not to be, though.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former referee said: “You’d fine him if you were the manager, wouldn’t you? It’s just… Where’s the thought process?
When the players come chatting to you, you remain adamant that it’s the correct decision and it’s deserved.
“Whatever they say or do will not change because that player is already on his way to the tunnel.
