Liverpool have had an extremely impressive summer transfer window thus far, with the Reds improving their ranks across the board.

At the moment, it feels like the transfer of Wirtz could be the best move that any team will pull off, with the young German being widely regarded as the best number 10 in the world.

As mentioned, Mamardashvili is the man who has come in to be his number two, but while speaking live on talkSPORT, Darren Bent gave his thoughts on how good the former Valencia man actually is.

“There’s an argument that either [Alisson and Mamardashvili] could be number one,” Bent said.

“Mamardashvili is incredible, for starters, he’s massive, shot-stopping unbelievable, comes for crosses, good with his feet.”

Andy Goldstein then asked why Mamardashvili has gone to be a number two at Anfield, which Bent responded by saying: “It’s challenging himself, isn’t it.

“He’s got the opportunity to play for Liverpool.”

Even if Liverpool don’t manage to bring in any more new faces this summer, it still feels like they’ll be the team to beat.

Of course, if the likes of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are sold by Liverpool this summer, then replacements will have to be sourced.

However, if they end up staying, it feels like Slot’s men would have a good chance of retaining the Premier League title.

Cody Gakpo and Diaz were Liverpool’s other best attackers last term, with the duo often being played out of position as a number nine.

However, with the amount of depth they now have among their ranks, it’s hard to see how Liverpool won’t be at the top of the table once again.
