Liverpool may be about to receive a helping hand in their pursuit of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer after the latest development surrounding his future.

Liverpool have since sold Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich which has increased speculation that they are ready to lodge a bid for Isak.

The ECHO understands that Liverpool are pondering a bid for the Swede which has angered Newcastle as it has left them in limbo as they look at potentially needing to replace Isak.



In the meantime, the 25-year-old has flown to San Sebastian to train with his old club Real Sociedad.

Reports in the Spanish media have suggested that Isak is back at the club's training ground which could benefit Liverpool in their hopes of signing the centre-forward.

Currently, it is in Real Sociedad's interest to persuade Isak to join the Reds.

That's because the Basque club have a 10 per cent sell-on clause included in the deal that saw Newcastle sign him for £60m.

Should Liverpool bid a whopping £150m for Isak, Real Sociedad would stand to receive roughly £8.7m from the deal which is not too shabby for the La Liga club.

Isak clearly holds a good relationship with Real Sociedad and should he seek advice from them while at their training ground, he will undoubtedly be pushed towards moving to Anfield.
