Liverpool have built a reputation over recent years as being smart operators when it comes to academy recruitment.
The Reds have plucked some extraordinarily talented youngsters from rival youth teams up and down the country.
Perhaps the most exciting of these is Rio Ngumoha, who has settled in this season after a high profile arrival from Chelsea.
But Ngumoha is far from the only example of Liverpool doing some excellent talent-spotting.
Big things are expected of Trey Nyoni, who arrived from Leicester City in 2023, while the likes of Harvey Elliott and Kaide Gordon have previously been wily pick-ups for Liverpool’s academy.
Up until now, the Reds have rarely been on the receiving end of swoops from rivals for their best youth team players.

Arne Slot has not utilised Liverpool’s youth team players as much as some predicted he might this season.
Nevertheless, as Rousing The Kop revealed earlier in May, Slot is planning to lean more heavily on the Reds academy next season.

One player who had potentially been in his thoughts is midfielder Kieran Morrison.
Morrison is highly rated at Liverpool, having joined from Manchester United at U14 level.
However, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 18-year-old has now been subject to an approach from Premier League rival Wolves.

“Understand Wolves have now approached Liverpool for 18 year old highly rated talent Kieran Morrison,” Romano posted on Friday morning.
“Wolves have genuine interest, as he’s on their shortlist with more clubs around Europe also keen.”
While it would be a shame to lose Morrison this summer, it is perhaps unlikely he would have made the breakthrough into the Liverpool first-team any time soon.
U21s coach Barry Lewtas called Morrison a ‘brilliant presser‘ as recently as April and he clearly has talent, but he’ll turn 19 in November and having not yet had a sniff of the senior team, it is make or break time.
Certainly, Morrison will have a far better chance of breaking into the first-team if he heads to Wolves, while a move to Europe could offer all sorts of opportunities for the youngster.
Crucially, Liverpool tied Morrison to his first senior contract in April 2024, which reportedly runs until 2027.
As a result, if Wolves, or any other club, do push further ahead with their interest, Liverpool should not be left empty handed.
