Newcastle co-owner Jamie Reuben and PIF board member Jacobo Solis recently visited Alexander Isak at his home in a last-ditch attempt to persuade the 25-year-old striker to abandon his ambitions of joining Liverpool and recommit to staying at St James’ Park.
The meeting was approved by Newcastle chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan, who was present at Monday night’s thrilling 3-2 defeat to Liverpool but did not participate in the home visit.
However, the delegation got the same answer: that the Swede only wants to join Liverpool and is not willing to back down.
Now Craig Hope of the Daily Mail has reported that Isak is unfazed with all the noise:
“As reported on my YouTube video last night, there was nothing following the secret meeting to suggest Alexander Isak has had a change of heart.”
“I’m told today he is not affected by the noise & remains intent on getting his move to Liverpool,”
