Everton’s summer transfer window looks to be kicking into gear after the club confirmed the arrival of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea on Wednesday (6 August).

Dewsbury-Hall has officially joined the Toffees from the Blues for an initial £24million [BBC] fee, and he represents David Moyes’ fifth signing of the summer so far.

This is the first transfer window with The Friedkin Group at the helm for Everton, and they have so far brought playmaker Charly Alcaraz back from Flamengo, signed Mark Travers and Adam Aznou from Bournemouth and Bayern Munich respectively, while Thierno Barry has joined in a big-money move from Villarreal to add to Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival.

Moyes will likely not be done yet with signings, after former club chief Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that the Toffees could bring in as many as five new players in the coming weeks, and his starting lineup could look very strong if they are able to bring in the likes of Grealish and Dibling.

New striker Barry is surely set to be handed a starting spot for the new season, while he could be joined by two new signings in Grealish and Dibling, as well as the mercurial Iliman Ndiaye at attacking midfield.

Everton are frontrunners to sign Dibling with the 19-year-old training away from his Southampton teammates, while the Toffees have also opened talks over a loan move for the Man City man [The Athletic] after Football Insider revealed in June that Grealish is “excited” about a potential move to Merseyside.

New signing Dewsbury-Hall could play further back as a deeper midfielder alongside veteran Idrissa Gana Gueye, while Jake O’Brien is likely to stay at right-back with Vitalii Mykolenko on the other flank ahead of Aznou for now.

Jarrad Branthwaite recently signed a new contract with the Toffees and will remain as a starting centre-back next to the ever-reliable James Tarkowski, while Jordan Pickford is well on his way to becoming an Everton legend and is set to stay in-between the sticks for the new campaign.

Everton’s summer has burst into life over the last few weeks with the signings of Aznou and Dewsbury-Hall, but getting both Grealish and Dibling over the line will now be their main focus as they aim to make a push for European football in the new season.

Moyes recently admitted that he wanted to make “nine or 10” more new signings prior to capturing the left-back and central midfield pair, and so it is certainly not set to be a quiet end to the transfer window for the Merseyside outfit.

Looking at their potential starting line up for 2025/26, there are not many weak spots, but it is no surprise to see the Toffees interested in a move for Juventus’ Douglas Luiz due to Gueye’s age and the fact their only senior back-up in that position is James Garner.

Football Insider also recently revealed that Everton are plotting to hijack Ipswich’s move for Hayden Hackney, so central midfield is clearly a priority for Moyes now along with trying to bolster his options on the wing.
