Liverpool are considering making a move for Newcastle United's Alexander Isak with plans to add to their attack.

The Sweden international finished behind only Mohamed Salah in last season's Premier League goalscoring charts, meaning a potential transfer would be an exciting one for the Reds.

As reported by the ECHO, Liverpool are now stepping up efforts to bolster their attack.

Newcastle United have remained steadfast in insisting Isak is not for sale, with Magpies target Hugo Ekitike also on Liverpools list of potential targets.

No official offer has been made for Isak, and no contact has been made between the two clubs although Liverpool's interest in Isak has been long-standing.

Should an approach be made down the line.

however, and a deal for Isak sealed, fans would no doubt be thrilled to see the former Real Sociedad man lining up amongst Arne Slot's players.

To one side of the striker would be Mohamed Salah, the existing crown jewel in this Liverpool XI.

He scored 34 goals over his final two seasons at Bayer Leverkusen, as well as providing 65 assists in total for his former club.

And Liverpool's ranks are not short of attacking flair elsewhere either.

Filling out the midfield options are Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo.

At full-back, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez have been recruited on top of existing options Conor Bradley, Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas - all five being famed in one way or another for how they serve those in front of them.

And the cross-field switch of plays from Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Alisson Becker have been known on occasion to catch out opposition defences, allowing the Reds' attackers a run at goal via 'route one'.

The options are plentiful and Isak could nestle straight into a team that looks ready to battle for the English title in back-to-back seasons and who knows, maybe go on a Champions League run as well.
