Virgil van Dijk hinted that Liverpool's supporters should be excited for the summer when he signed a two-year contract renewal with the Reds toward the end of last season, and he was right to do so.
"I think they (Liverpool) are planning to make it a big summer," Van Dijk said.
" So we all have to trust the board, as a Liverpool connected fan, to do the right job."
Since those comments, the Reds have committed more than $250 million to new players in Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, and another big-name signing could soon be on the way.

But i’m confident he will be a Newcastle player come the end of the window.”
It was reported earlier this week that Liverpool had informed Newcastle of its desire to sign Isak, but within days it emerged that the Reds had reached an agreement with Ekitike over a move to Anfield.
It seemed as though that might spell the end of Isak's chances of joining Liverpool this summer, considering Ekitike is likely to cost the Reds just shy of $100 million, but Liverpool could still move for the Swede if it receives encouragement from Newcastle over a possible sale.
Hugo Ekitike of Frankfurt
It is not clear where it would leave Liverpool's move for Ekitike, if a deal for the Frenchman was not wrapped up and it became clear that Newcastle was open to selling Isak.
But should Liverpool end up landing Isak, there is absolutely no doubt that Arne Slot's team would be the clear favorite to win the league again next season.
Alisson is set to start the season in goal despite the arrival of the highly rated Giorgi Mamardashvili, while Conor Bradley and Milos Kerkez could be the full-backs on the opening day of the season; Jeremie Frimpong is likely to operate further up the field.
Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate will continue as center-back partners, while the midfield trio is likely to comprise Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Florian Wirtz, with Dominik Szoboszlai the fall guy
Liverpool's possible line-up with Isak: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Wirtz; Salah, Gakpo, Isak
