The Liverpool boss has made an average of 2.7 changes to his team for each fixture, which puts him third behind only Mikel Arteta, with three, and Thomas Tuchel, with four.

When it comes to making changes to their starting XI from one league match to the next, only a couple of Premier League managers have topped Jurgen Klopp’s efforts in 2021/22.

Nobody except Klopp will know if he was intending to make any tactical changes to his team for the trip to play Watford on Saturday lunchtime, but the circumstances surrounding the availability of certain members of his squad means his hand will now be forced regardless.

Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning season of 2019/20 had very few low points but the 3-0 defeat at Watford was undoubtedly the worst of them.

There’s probably little debate regarding the front three for this game either.
