Liverpool secured the Premier League title in emphatic fashion with a 5-1 win against Tottenham at Anfield.

Despite going 1-0 down, Arne Slot’s side fought back to secure a historic result that will live long in the memory of Liverpool supporters, with the Reds seeing five different goalscorers on their way to winning the title.

One of the players on the scoresheet was Mohamed Salah, who registered his 46th Premier League goal contribution of the season with the Egyptian international on course to enjoy the most productive campaign of any player in the league’s history.

And Liverpool fans were clearly happy by Salah’s goal against Tottenham after what was heard outside Anfield shortly after the winger’s strike.

According to BBC Sport reporter Ian Dennis, fireworks were heard being let off outside Anfield as Liverpool fans began getting the title party underway after Salah’s second-half strike, with the city set for widespread celebrations.

With Gary Neville lauding Liverpool’s midfield set-up, it was the perfect result for the Reds to secure the Premier League title, with the mood of the fixture from the first minute onwards more akin to a festival than a must-win game.

And Salah’s strike to put Liverpool 4-1 up all but capped off that the hosts will be winning the Premier League today, with the winger the club’s player of the season and a shoo-in for all the post-season awards in the coming weeks.

Indeed, Salah’s form has been influential behind Liverpool’s title win, and the former AS Roma star more than deserved a moment in the spotlight on today of all days as the Reds secured their second-ever Premier League championship.

Salah has been the best player in the best team in the Premier League this season, with the 32-year-old winger in the form of his life having fired Liverpool to their second title in five years in emphatic and dominating fashion.

Yet with four games left to go, Salah will be looking to see which records he could break between now and the end of the season, with the Egyptian winger making breaking long-standing accolades a regular occurrence this campaign.

The outright Premier League goal contribution record is there for the taking for Salah, and the winger will be hellbent on making that achievement his own with four games to, with the winger’s former club Chelsea next up.
