Manchester United can still offload Tyrell Malacia to either the Saudi Pro League or Turkiye beyond England’s transfer deadline day on Monday.
The Netherlands international was set for a loan move from Man United to Spanish top-flight side Elche before the transfer deadline at 7pm on 1 September.
However, Malacia’s move to La Liga is now unlikely, despite Ruben Amorim’s efforts to finalise his Red Devils squad.
Meanwhile, Malacia had attracted interest from AS Roma, who have won both of their first two Serie A games this term.

Amid Amorim’s efforts to rebuild his side, Malacia has been a part of Man United’s so-called bomb squad, alongside the likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Jadon Sancho.
However, Hojlund is nearing a move to Napoli, and Sancho is edging closer to joining Aston Villa, whereas the Dutch defender is set to remain in the North West a little longer.
Meanwhile, taking to X on 1 September, the Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler reported: “Understand Tyrell Malacia’s loan to Elche is unlikely to happen.

“The final bomb squad member may now stay beyond today’s deadline, but it’s open in Saudi Arabia until 10 September and for 2 days after that in Turkiye.
“Malacia was linked with Saudi before Elche showed an interest.”

Malacia’s move from Feyenoord to Man United back in 2022 has not been a success, as he has made just 47 appearances for the Red Devils.

The left-back helped PSV Eindhoven win the Eredivisie title last term, making 12 appearances while on loan with the Dutch club from Amorim’s side.
However, since returning to Old Trafford from his second stint in the Netherlands, he has not featured in a matchday squad.
Amorim has completed several important deals this summer, such as the acquisitions of attackers Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
Meanwhile, Man United have agreed to sign goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who appears set to become the Red Devils’ new first-choice between the sticks.
But while signing players like Lammens is vital for Amorim, he must ensure that he offloads Malacia, who has become surplus to requirements in the North West, before the transfer windows in Saudi Arabia and Turkiye shut later this month.
