Friday is set to be a big day at Liverpool with the summer transfer period getting into full swing.
The Reds are expected to be busy in terms of both arrivals and departures over the coming months, with plenty of work already being done.
After news that an agreement between Liverpool and Real Madrid was close for the transfer of Trent Alexander-Arnold on Thursday, Friday seemed likely to be the day.
And after months, even years, of speculation, Alexander-Arnold was finally announced as a Real Madrid player.
In the circumstances, it looks like a good deal for Liverpool, with journalist Paul Joyce reporting that the Reds will receive £10m in total for the early release of Alexander-Arnold.
Liverpool officially confirmed the news in a short statement on Friday and, just a few short minutes later, the Scouser was welcomed as Real Madrid’s latest Galactico.

No matter how prepared Liverpool supporters were for this to arrive, it is still an extraordinarily sad moment.
Yes, the Reds have received a far better fee than it looked like they would just a short time ago, but it really should never have come to this.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
In Liverpool’s official statement there were no gushing goodbyes for Alexander-Arnold, the club simply ‘appreciative and grateful for his contribution to those successes’.
In Real Madrid’s announcement, they were equally non-descript, listing his achievements to date and confirming that he will take part in the upcoming Club World Cup with Real.

Another welcome then followed, with a post depicting Alexander-Arnold alongside a ‘Bienvenido’ and ‘Welcome’ banner.
The hashtag ‘WelcomeTrent’ has also been devised.
Minutes later, the official Madrid account dug out an old tweet sent by Alexander-Arnold from before he made his Liverpool debut in November 2014.
“Madrid,” the young Alexander-Arnold wrote along with a plane emoji and a football.
Reposting 11 years later with a watching eyes emoji, the sentiment from Madrid was clear.
As Alexander-Arnold leaves Liverpool, it feels inevitable that he will now be linked with a return to Anfield in the near future.
If the right-back struggles at the Bernabeu, those rumours will start sooner rather than later.
However, as per journalist Fabrizio Romano, Madrid are currently not planning to lose their new signing on the cheap.
Having signed him to a contract until 2031, Romano reports that Los Blancos have inserted a 1 Billion Euro release clause into the agreement.
“Understand the release clause into Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract will be €1B,” reports the journalist.
