Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen remain some way apart in their valuation of Florian Wirtz, as talks continue to reach an agreement on price.
It was widely reported that the Reds’ second bid for the German international was turned down last week, with Leverkusen demanding a British record transfer fee to allow Wirtz to leave.
As per the Daily Mail, there is an £11million ($15M) gap between Liverpool’s offer and the asking price set by Leverkusen.
That would eclipse the £115M ($155M) Chelsea paid for Moise Caicedo in 2023, and obliterate Liverpool’s current record transfer of £85M ($115M) for Darwin Nunez.
The Mail adds that talks will resume on Tuesday as the clubs look to find a resolution.
There is still a feeling that Wirtz will end up as a Red before the first transfer window of the summer shuts on June 10.
There has also been a suggestion that Jarell Quansah and Harvey Elliott could be used to help finance the deal, with either of the Liverpool players heading in the opposite direction to join Leverkusen.

Should Liverpool secure Wirtz’s arrival, he would join ex-teammate and friend Jeremie Frimpong at Anfield, after the Dutch defender last week completed a move to the Reds.
Reports have also indicated that talks continue for Milos Kerkez in what has been a fast-paced opening to the window for Liverpool.
In an unusual summer, the market opens temporarily for 11 days between 1 and 10 June, and then commences again on June 16, running until September 1.
