Liverpool are going strong to sign the German midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, as per multiple reports.
The current Premier League champions are ahead of Bayern Munich and Manchester City in the race to sign the young midfielder, as he has reportedly informed his desire to join Liverpool, according to Fabrizio Romano.
As reported by SZ Sport, Wirtz travelled to Liverpool with his family last week, including his father, who is also his advisor.
The Reds are willing to pay between €130 million to €150 million for the midfielder, according to The METRO.
The Merseyside club have already signed Florian Wirtz’s Bayer Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong, as per multiple reports.
The club is just waiting to announce it soon.
Looking at the situation, the Florian Wirtz transfer saga is not expected to go on for long, and both clubs, Liverpool and Leverkusen, are likely to reach an agreement very soon.

Liverpool (€449 million) have the 5th highest wage bill in European football, and 2nd amongst English teams, just behind Manchester City (€554 million), according to Transfermarkt.
Sky Sports Switzerland via Give Me Sport reported that Liverpool are willing to offer Florian Wirtz a gross €20 million per year contract, which will fall under €17 million net.
That means the German international will earn around €325,000 per week.
This could make him one of the highest earners for the Reds, just behind Mohamed Salah (€400,000 per week) and Virgil van Dijk (€400,000 per week).
