Liverpool’s pursuit of a marquee No.9 has taken a fresh twist as they weigh up a record-breaking deal for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the Reds are preparing a record-breaking initial bid for Isak a move that could set off a chain reaction in the market.

The Premier League champions have approached Newcastle with an offer understood to be in the region of £120 million for the Swedish striker (via reports by Telegraph).
