Tottenham supporters are beginning to become impatient with Dominic Solanke as the striker continues his battles on the sidelines.

The 28-year-old was a substitute as Tottenham beat Man City 2-0 before the international break, but since then, the forward has missed clashes against Bournemouth, West Ham, and Villarreal.

Randal Kolo Muani joined Tottenham on transfer deadline day to alleviate some of the pressure on Thomas Frank‘s first-choice striker, but Richarlison has been handed the reins instead.

Now, the former Brentford boss has been issued a new update on Solanke’s availability, and it might not have been what he was quite hoping for before facing Brighton on Saturday, 20 September.

Sky Sports confirmed that the striker is back in training, working individually with Spurs’ medical staff away from the rest of the squad, and is unlikely to feature against the Seagulls.

This update would see the striker miss his fourth consecutive game of the 2025-26 season, piling even more pressure onto his shoulders after arriving last summer for £65million [BBC Sport].

Tottenham fans are hopeful of a Harry Kane return once his time with Bayern Munich is over, but until that happens, the club will forever be trying to fill his shoes in the final third.

Last season, Solanke missed 14 matches for Spurs due to various reasons, including injury and illness, which was incredibly difficult for Ange Postecoglou, given he was dealing with multiple other injuries.

Add his absences so far from the current campaign, and he’s been sidelined for 17 matches since arriving in North London.

Kolo Muani was given just 23 minutes of football during the 1-0 win over Villarreal on Wednesday, 17 September, with Richarlison once again being given the nod through the middle.

However, speaking ahead of the Champions League clash, Frank said: “Randal is ready.

If we needed him to play, he could play 90 minutes, but it’s getting him to play at the intensity and level we want.”

This would suggest that the France international could even be involved from the start against Brighton, but, of course, he is still adapting to English football after spending last season in Italy with Juventus.

Solanke’s return is right around the corner, but given how long he has been unavailable and his previous issues, Frank might not be so confident throwing him into the action right away.
