Liverpool supporters have a treat in store this afternoon with midfielders Florian Wirtz and Rayan Cherki on opposing sides of a UEFA Nations League encounter.

The German and French stars have been part of the Reds transfer plans early in the summer window, the result of which has been to attempt a club-record transfer.

Wirtz had long-term admirers at Anfield before it became evident that Liverpool are the club he prefers to join to advance his career.

Wirtz's headed goal was not enough to see Germany past Portugal in their Nations League semi-final, nor were Cherki's goal and assist for France in their own battle vs Spain.

So both will be hoping to make a difference when their countries play for third place in the competition.

Here, the ECHO provides all the necessary details of how to follow the action.

Kick-off in the Nations League third-place play-off between Germany and France is scheduled for 2pm BST on Sunday, June 8 at Stuttgart's MHPArena.

Liverpool supporters in the UK will be able to watch Germany vs France through the Amazon Prime streaming platform.

Coverage starts at 1:44pm BST.

In order to live stream the fixture, fans must have an Amazon Prime account and then pay the £2.49 pay-per-view fee.

This service will be available either online, on mobile or via the Amazon Prime TV app.

Nothing can be guaranteed until the teams are unveiled prior to kick-off, but the pay-per-view fee is still payable after the nations make their announcements.

In Wirtz's case, the man himself indicated that he is to play a part despite the risk of injury amid Liverpool and Leverkusen's negotiations.

German national team boss Julian Nagelsmann then followed up stating that he has received no requests from clubs to rest any of his players in a match in which realistically, both teams have nothing to play for but pride.

German publication BILD predict that the Germans will use a new system that will see the 22-year-old take up a wide supportive role behind the strikers of a 4-2-2-2 formation.

As for Cherki, the 21-year-old will be vying to make his full France debut.
