Formerly known as the Charity Shield, the Community Shield is an annual football match played between the winners of the previous season's FA Cup and Premier League.
As Crystal Palace triumphed over Manchester City to win the FA Cup and Liverpool secured last season's title, the two will now meet for the Community Shield.
Founded in 1908, the FA donates the match proceeds to community initiatives and charitable causes across the country.
