Kieran Maguire: Liverpool in line for £40m-a-year cash bonanza after BBC update Liverpool could rake in an extra £40million of revenue per season as a result of increasing the capacity of Anfield to 61,000.

That is according to football finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Liverpool revealed they were now set to move forward with plans to add 7,000 seats to the Anfield Road stand.

Season ticket holders might buy a shirt once a season but they don’t go to the store every week.

“As far as Liverpool are concerned, they’ve got a huge waiting list for season tickets and matchday tickets and that’s why they use the membership scheme.

“Liverpool have a very smart business model from their perspective as only half of the tickets go to season ticket holders.

“If you look at West Ham, I think they’ve got 54,000 season ticket holders.

Maguire revealed the increased number of hospitality tickets will play a key role in increasing revenues.
