Liverpool have been messed around by Crystal Palace ever since their initial interest in Marc Guehi was reported.

The centre-back now has less than 12 months remaining on his deal at Selhurst Park, with his clear desire being to take the next step in his career with Liverpool.
Guehi was only interested in signing for the Anfield outfit this summer, with the Englishman even willing to stay at Palace and then join Arne Slot’s men for free at the end of the season.

In the end, however, Richard Hughes clearly realised that a deal worth £35million for the centre-back was too good to pass up on, even though they’ve already spent a lot of money this summer.
However, it’s Liverpool who seem to have been the most active, with both Alexander Isak and Guehi set to join, while others, such as Harvey Elliott, are being sold on.
And now, despite Crystal Palace’s move for Igor Julio falling through at the last minute, it still seems like Liverpool are still going to get their man.

Even without the signing of Guehi this summer, Liverpool would have been on course for one of the best transfer windows ever.
