Liverpool will, reportedly, face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, who is valued at more than £80m by the Bundesliga side.

The Frenchman has lit up Germany's top-flight since signing for Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain midway through the 2023/24 season.

In total, Ekitike has scored 26 goals and laid on 14 assists in 64 games during his time in Germany - a return which has seen his stock rise across the continent.



The Guardian reports that Liverpool, who could be in the hunt for a new No.9 this summer if Darwin Nunez were to depart Anfield, are one of several Premier League clubs battling it out for Ekitike's signature.

But with four years still to run on his contract, with Frankfurt, the Guardian adds that the Bundesliga outfit could ask for "north of £80m" for the forward.

Chelsea are one of those who could reportedly rival Liverpool for the Frenchman - though they are set to be well-stocked in attack next season after Liam Delap snubbed interest from Manchester United and Everton to agree on a move to Stamford Bridge.

The Mirror, however, reports that, despite winning the race for the England under-21 international, the Conference League winners are eyeing more attacking reinforcements this summer, and will hold talks with Ekitike's agent, Karl Mwalako Buchmann, in the coming days.

United could, possibly, step up their interest in the Frenchman, after missing out on a deal for Delap.

But whether the Red Devils would be able to cough up close to £100m after missing out on Champions League qualification for the second year running, remains to be seen.

Rumours of Ekitike signing for Liverpool this summer were fuelled over the weekend, as the Frankfurt star 'liked' several posts on Instagram by Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen confirming Jeremie Frimpong's £29.5m transfer to Anfield.

Despite losing Omar Marmoush to Manchester City in January, Ekitike's goals helped Frankfurt land a third-place finish in the Bundesliga - to qualify for next season's Champions League.
