Liverpool have made a busy and dramatic start to the summer transfer window following their historic Premier League title triumph last season.
The Reds have already spent big on the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, and now appear to be turning their attention to the forward line amid ongoing uncertainty over the futures of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.
The latter, in particular, continues to be heavily tipped to leave Anfield this summer, although Liverpool's valuation has yet to be met by any potential suitors.
Following Tuesday’s news that Liverpool had formalised their interest in Alexander Isak with an official approach to Newcastle United, the club also continue to be linked with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike.
The Frenchman is also being strongly pursued by Newcastle, but reports suggest Liverpool are determined to land one of the two.

Here, Echo Sport rounds up the latest on Liverpool’s interest in Ekitike.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool have now made contact with Eintracht Frankfurt over a possible move for Ekitike.
Reports around Ekitike’s future continue to cite £86m as Frankfurt’s asking price for the striker this summer.
Newcastle remain adamant that Isak is not for sale and are now focused on signing Ekitike to play alongside the Sweden international next season.
The report adds that Newcastle are expected to return with an improved offer as they look to secure one of their long-standing transfer targets.
Notably, the article also suggests Newcastle are not just prepared to fend Liverpool off on one front, but to go head-to-head on both.

Following The Athletic’s report that Liverpool have stepped up their interest in Ekitike, journalist Ben Jacobs has provided further context on the club’s stance.
He claims that while Isak remains the priority, Liverpool are ready to move quickly for Ekitike should they conclude that a deal for Isak is not viable this summer.
Sporting director Richard Hughes, alongside Michael Edwards, will be tasked with deciding which forward to pursue once they have full clarity on both situations.
