Hugo Ekitike has flown to London to have a medical before signing for Liverpool(Image: UEFA via Getty Images)
Hugo Ekitike is having a medical in London after Liverpool agreed a £79million deal with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign the striker.
However, he has turned them down in favour of a move to the Reds, and here is the very latest on Ekitike arriving in England to complete a transfer.
The ECHO reported that Ekitike flew to London rather than Merseyside on Tuesday, and his medical will take place in the capital.
Sky Sports News had reported on the player's arrival at the club's training ground in the morning.
The channel aired footage of a black Mercedes people carrier pulling into the training centre, claiming Ekitike was inside.
They then move on to Japan and face Yokohama F Marinos in the J.League World Challenge on Wednesday.
The Bundesliga side released a statement on Monday (July 21) confirming that the striker was one of a number of players who would not travel with them for their pre-season tour of the United States after being ‘released for talks with other clubs’.
Their statement read: "Junior Dina Ebimbe, Aurelio Buta, Hrvoje Smolcic, Mo Dahoud and Hugo Ekitike have been released for talks with other clubs and will not travel to the training camp."
