Both players joined the Reds this summer and play in the same position, though Malouda doesn't believe that will define Ekitike's legacy at Anfield. The Frenchman, 23, joined Liverpool in July for an initial £69million after Arne Slot's side saw their initial approach for Isak rebuffed by Newcastle.
The youngster scored in the Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace before bagging in each of his first two Premier League appearances, but Isak now looks certain to claim the starting berth up top under Slot.
Malouda was speaking to BoyleSports, who provide the latest Champions League betting, when he said: "Will Alexander Isak impact the development of Hugo Ekitike?

Ekitike, who has spoken of his excitement to team up with Isak, has featured almost exclusively as a centre forward in his professional career.
The Swede has also shown the capacity to play out wide when required, but there's little doubt his preferred role is also at the tip of the spear.
Malouda complimented his compatriot's quality and reinforced his faith that he will come good at Anfield.
"But his main thing is he wants to be on the pitch, he wants to improve his stats, deliver and answer to the expectations around him."
