Liverpool are preparing to go big again this summer if they feel the door is open to sign Alexander Isak.
When the Reds decided to make a move for Hugo Ekitike, fans would have thought that their transfer business was nearing the end, especially in the striker department at least.
However, that is simply not the case and despite spending up to £79m on a new number nine, they are preparing to go even bigger again to add Isak to their ranks.
The Swede wants to leave Newcastle but the Magpies are not too keen on letting him go, although they find themselves in a position where it seems the only option.
With the fee involved and options Newcastle need to weigh up, however, this deal is far from over, with there still being many factors to consider.
That being said, Fabrizio Romano’s confidence on a transfer happening tends to be a good indication of its likelihood, with the journalist giving Liverpool a percentage of how sure he is that it will happen.

The Reds have wanted Isak for many years now but ever since he set the Premier League alight, the chances of getting him seemed near-impossible.
They stuck around anyway and always stated their willingness to try their luck, and this summer they might just hit the jackpot.

According to Romano, he has a sneaky suspicion that Isak might end up at Anfield, indicating that the Reds now have a 60% chance of landing their top target.
“For Alexander Isak, what I can tell you in terms of the percentage for him joining Liverpool is 60%,” he told DAZN.
“It is quite optimistic but there is still work to do.
Liverpool have all the intentions to go strong for this deal.

“Liverpool already made contact with Newcastle two weeks ago, they are speaking to Newcastle because they are ready to make a record proposal.
“The player is very keen on the move, now it depends on Newcastle, if they want to open doors to this exit, then Liverpool will be ready to make something historical happen.”
For now, the Reds need to play something of the waiting game, with Newcastle needing to give them the green light before submitting an offer.
Despite all the reports being positive, for the Reds at least, Isak to Liverpool is not a transfer that will happen in just a few days’ time, it will likely drag on for most of August.
First, the Magpies need to source a replacement, with Benjamin Sesko high up on their list, although Manchester United could steal him from under their noses.
Then, once they have signed a new number nine, negotiations can begin, although both clubs are expected to be some way apart in valuation as things stand.
Newcastle want £150m, Liverpool feel £120m plus some add-ons might be fairer, suggesting that these two might lock heads for a little while yet.
