Jurgen Klopp once sidelined an international defender after a puzzling disagreement before his first full season in charge at Liverpool.
Mamadou Sakho, who joined the Reds for £18million from Paris Saint-Germain, had established himself as a vital part of the team during the 2015/16 season, which saw Brendan Rodgers dismissed and replaced by Klopp.
However, the French player found himself banned amid a World Anti-Doping Agency investigation – he was later cleared, receiving an apology and compensation, causing him to miss both the Europa League final loss to Sevilla and Euro 2016 in his home country.
Sakho was given the green light to continue playing that summer and joined Liverpool's squad on their pre-season tour to the United States.
But this trip marked the start of the end for his time as a Red after allegations surfaced of him being late for a flight, a team meal and a treatment session.
After the decision to send him home, Klopp said: "I thought maybe it made sense for him to fly home to Liverpool and after eight or 10 days, when we come back, we can talk about it.
Even injured players have sessions."

As the campaign got underway, Sakho found himself exiled from the senior squad, instead training alongside the under-23s.
Growing increasingly frustrated with his predicament, Sakho turned to social media.
Posting on Snapchat at 3am: "Now it's three weeks I am fit to play games.
Reflecting earlier this summer, nine years after his falling out with Klopp, Sakho expressed his respect for the German but suggested things weren't quite as they appeared at the time.
He told the ECHO: "Good relationship (with Klopp) because I'm not a negative man.
