Anfield was a sea of celebration on Sunday as Liverpool won the Premier League title against Tottenham.
The Reds came from 1-0 down to win 5-1 to secure the championship in dominant fashion, with Liverpool wrapping up the title with four games to go as Arne Slot capped off his first year in England with the biggest prize of all for the Merseyside clubs.
One person who wasn’t happy to be at Anfield on the day, though, was Manchester United legend Gary Neville, who was on commentary duty for Sky Sports as the defender was somehow chosen for punditry duty on a day where Liverpool equalled the Red Devils for English titles won.
And Neville has now shared what he experienced at Anfield when the full-time whistle went as Liverpool were confirmed Premier League champions.

Speaking on the It’s Called Soccer podcast, Neville admitted that he did ‘snap’ at some Liverpool fans giving him abuse after the full-time whistle, with the pundit sharing how he left Anfield as soon as the game was over.
Neville said when asked to recount his experience at Anfield on Sunday: “At the end of the game, I normally do a podcast, but I made the decision partway through the game as it was getting fruity up there in the gantry.
“I got my backpack, literally the final whistle went, and usually Peter throws it to me, but we agreed that I didn’t have to speak, so I put my backpack on, we went, we ran for it, and we got right out onto the concourse and beat everyone.

“They were obviously in good spirits, as you can imagine, but seeing me and abusing me, a guy on the M60 on the way home, honestly, I’ve never been aggressive in my life, but if I could have pulled over, it wasn’t a great last half hour after the game!”
After famously celebrating in front of Liverpool fans in 2006 and being part of the United team that succeeded Liverpool as the most successful in England, it’s no real surprise that Neville isn’t a popular figure at Anfield.
And the former England international seemingly knew what he was getting himself into when he signed on to do punditry for Sky Sports on Sunday, with Liverpool fans giving the United legend abuse after the Premier League title was confirmed.
Indeed, Liverpool drawing level with United on the number of titles won will add more spice to the rivalry going into next season, and Neville will hope his former side can start making a rise back up the standings after their worst year in Premeir League history.
