Liverpool and Everton have had a fierce rivalry on and off the pitch for years, with both teams already preparing for battle ahead of the new season.
The Reds have ended the season as the best of the best, but staying there is a whole other challenge and requires much planning.
Kicking the transfer window off in style, Liverpool have embroiled themselves in many transfer sagas, with the most straightforward being Jeremie Frimpong, who has become the first Anfield arrival.
Florian Wirtz should be the next Liverpool signing but he is proving rather difficult to tie down, while a whole host of names could be on their way out to facilitate the move.
A swap deal including Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah could be a tactic Liverpool use to sign Wirtz, while removing players such as Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz could be another way of raising funds.
Youngster Ben Doak is one player rumoured with a move away and it is safe to say he isn’t short of potential suitors.

Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals Everton are one club vying for Ben Doak’s signature, but it comes as no surprise after the teenager’s sensational season in the Championship.
Exclusively speaking to Rousing The Kop, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed what Everton’s chances of signing Doak are and whether Liverpool could actually sell to their close rivals.

“Everton do want a right winger, Doak’s one they’ve looked at before and Liverpool are willing sellers, so it’s not a huge surprise,” Bailey said.
“I don’t think the fact that they are rivals would be an issue at all, but I do think Doak will be sold either way whether it’s to Everton or someone else.
“Liverpool would want more than £20m to sell him, they’ve got precedents set when selling young players with the likes of Fabio Carvalho being sold for even more, so Everton know what it will take to get him.”

Everton first registered their interest in Doak in March this year, with this coming as a shock to many due to very few players playing for both clubs.
The last player to make the direct move from Liverpool to Everton was Gary Ablett in 1992, meaning this deal would be a first for over 23 years.
If Everton do try and prise Doak away from Anfield, they will face stiff competition from other clubs in the division, with Liverpool in a powerful position ahead of his impending departure.
As revealed by journalist David Lynch on his YouTube channel, there are a handful of other Premier League clubs keeping tabs on the 19-year-old.
“Everton are in the mix for Ben Doak, but I do understand that Bournemouth might be in the mix for him as well, and there has been talk of Crystal Palace in the past so it will be interesting to see if they reignite their interest,” Lynch said.
“There looks like there could be a bit of a Premier League bidding war for him which will suit Liverpool.”
With Liverpool parting with a lot of money this summer in pursuit of their top targets, they will need to recoup some of it somehow, and Doak may be able to provide them with just that.
