Liverpool’s Diaz was Barcelona’s main target at the start of the summer transfer window.

Since then, rumours have begun to emerge once again regarding Diaz’s future, with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano sharing his thoughts on the situation.

“I expect Barca to ask again, to approach again and to try again for Luis Diaz,” he said.

“Barcelona at the start of the summer transfer window wanted Luis Diaz.

“Deco started the summer plan with Luis Diaz, then Liverpool said no to all the clubs at the moment.

“But I expect Barca to make one more try for Luis Diaz this summer, let’s see what Liverpool will decide to do, otherwise they have more options available.”

It’s clear that Liverpool need to recoup some of the money they’ve spent on new arrivals this season.

This, as most fans will know, would be far from ideal, especially in a season where Liverpool will want to try and retain the title.
