Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to hit out at their beloved Reds, after the Express revealed some transfer news involving Leeds.

What’s the story?

Well, the Express are claiming that Leeds are preparing to walk away from a deal for Harry Wilson, as his price tag is too high.

Liverpool are asking for £17 million from those interested in the 24-year-old, a price that Leeds aren’t interested in entertaining.

Wilson himself wants to leave Anfield, after spending years away from Liverpool on a number of loan spells.

The 24-cap Wales international is keen to find a permanent home.

Leeds are in the market for a new attacker, after Pablo Hernandez left Elland Road.

However, it appears they won’t be held to ransom for Wilson’s services.

Michael Edwards’ powers could be waningPhoto by Alex Dodd – CameraSport via Getty Images

Liverpool’s Sporting Director, Michael Edwards, has made a name for himself after wrangling huge fees from others for fringe players.

Edwards sold Dominic Solanke for £19 million, Christian Benteke for £27 million, the outcasted Mamadou Sakho for £26 million, and even Jordon Ibe was sold for £15 million.

However, after COVID-19 harmed the finances of many clubs, Edwards should expect these types of deals to dry up now.

The global pandemic has ravaged the market, and few clubs will have the spending power to sign players like Solanke for £19 million nowadays.

Edwards can be stubborn and wait for £17 million.

However, if Liverpool fail to find a buyer for Wilson once again, it would be devastating for the forward.

He turns 25 in March, and it’s about time Liverpool stopped using his career as a bargaining tool.

Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the situation…
