Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min has said that winning the Premier League Golden Boot is ‘not important’ despite the South Korean being just one goal behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah at the top of the standings.
As the race goes down to the wire, Salah will be hoping to win his third Golden Boot while for Son it would be his inaugural title.
Son has netted 21 goals in 33 Premier League games this season compared to Salah’s 22 in 34.
Obviously it is a good thing that you are racing [for the Golden Boot], but I have said a few times that it is important to finish in the top four more than anything else.”
Tottenham’s remaining fixtures are Burnley and Norwich City while Liverpool face Southampton and Wolves.
This is compared to Salah’s five Premier League penalties.

“It’s not important,” Son said after the game.
[Against Arsenal] Performance-wise it was fantastic and I am very proud for the lads and well deserved.”
Son has scored all of his 21 Premier League goals from open play with Harry Kane on penalty duty for Tottenham.
