Rudi Voller is confident that Florian Wirtz will get his desired move to Liverpool.
The Reds are yet to agree a fee with Bayer Leverkusen as they negotiate over what would be a club-record deal to sign the Germany international.
Arne Slot’s side saw off interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Man City to turn Wirtz’s head, but have had two bids rejected by Leverkusen to date with the most recent totalling £109m.
The Bundesliga outfit are holding out for £125m, but all parties still remain confident that a deal will be finalised this summer and that Wirtz will be Anfield-bound.

And German football association (DFB) sporting director Rudi Völler, who previously served the same role at Bayer Leverkusen, has confirmed that Wirtz wants to join Liverpool.
And the former Germany and Bayer Leverkusen striker insists it is normal that it takes time for such negotiations to reach a resolution.
“It’s no secret that he’d like to go to Liverpool,” he told DAZN, as quoted by Sport1.
Of course, in the end, you have the feeling it will go through.
“Florian Wirtz has proven that he’s a very, very valuable player.
Not just for Leverkusen, but also for the national team.
That’s why he costs a few euros more.”
Voller had previously admitted that he hoped Wirtz would stay put at his former club, Leverkusen.
"I had a small hope that he might stay at Bayer Leverkusen for another year and then move on to an even bigger club,” he admitted to Bild.
