The 26-year-old's decision to quit his boyhood club, with whom he has played for since he was six, was hardly a surprise.
Neither will be the confirmation that he has joined Madrid.
But Alexander-Arnold was given a harsh reminder of how his decision has gone down with Liverpool supporters when he was booed before, during and after Sunday's 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
Walker, who is currently on loan at AC Milan from Manchester City, has been an international colleague and club rival of the Reds academy graduate for years.

And speaking on The Kyle Walker Podcast, the 34-year-old said: "He would have had very long, sleepless nights on what he had to do for his career.

The former Everton boss will now take over the Brazil national team and he will be replaced in the Bernabeu hotseat by Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso.
Walker continued: "There is going to be pressure to sign for this team (Madrid).
It's not just about playing football, it's about the whole package on and off the field and I’m sure with his character as I know him from being in the international squad, he can do that.
