Nathaniel Clyne missed out on winning the Premier League and Champions League during his time at Liverpool (Image: Getty Images)
Liverpool play Crystal Palace at Wembley on Sunday with another piece of silverware at stake.
The Community Shield is widely seen as the season opener before the Premier League season kicks off.
The Reds qualified for the match having won the Premier League title in Arne Slot's maiden season at Anfield, while Crystal Palace upset the odds to beat Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final at the same venue in May.
Clyne made an impressive start to life on Merseyside, but injuries hindered his time at Liverpool, restricting him to just 10 appearances over his final three campaigns at the club.
But the defender missed out on playing a role in the Reds' Champions League win in 2019 and 2020 Premier League victory under Jurgen Klopp, and previously expressed his disappointment at not having contributed to the Reds' success during his time at Anfield.
"Yeah, I missed out on that," he told The Guardian.
That’s what I’ve learned from him: to play with 100% and to play with confidence as well."
