Jorrel Hato has expressed his delight at joining Chelsea, stating "Chelsea is the best place for me" after sealing his move to the Blues, despite interest from other top clubs including Liverpool.
Hato, a product of Ajax's esteemed youth system, had several European clubs vying for his signature, but he opted for a switch to Stamford Bridge, committing to the London club until 2032.
Levi Colwill and Trevoh Chalobah, who were central to Chelsea's Club World Cup triumph, will now have to contend with the 19-year-old newcomer, who has cost the club £37million.

Speaking to the club's official website, Hato said: "I'm very excited, I'm so happy to be here.
Chelsea is the best place for me to do that so I'm very happy."
Speculation over a potential move to Liverpool intensified when Hato was spotted at Anfield during Liverpool's victory over Ipswich in January.
However, his appearance on Merseyside was down to his friendship with compatriot Ryan Gravenberch, who extended an invitation to Hato to attend the match as his guest.
The two have been teammates in the Netherlands national team, with Hato earning his first senior cap at just 17 and accumulating six caps since.
He also led the Dutch team as captain at the U21 Euros this summer.
Liverpool have let Jarell Quansah move to Bayer Leverkusen this summer, while Ibrahima Konate, entering the final year of his contract, is reportedly interested in a transfer to Real Madrid.
Hato is the first significant defensive signing, with Enzo Maresca focusing more on strengthening his attack.
Joao Pedro, who was signed from Brighton for £55m, played a crucial role in Chelsea's Club World Cup victory.
Liam Delap has also been brought in from Ipswich, sparking speculation about Nicolas Jackson's future at the club.
