Liverpool's Premier League title win would have been that much harder to achieve without Ryan Gravenberch's presence in midfield.
Marco Neppe, the technical director behind the 22-year-old's €18.5m (£15.8m) transfer from Ajax to Bayern Munich, says he's 'super happy' to see a player reach the heights he once predicted.
Prior to last weekend's defeat at Chelsea, Gravenberch had been involved in and started all 34 Premier League fixtures for Liverpool this season.
Add to that 12 more appearances in all competitions, the Dutchman was quite clearly owed a well-deserved rest after the league title was wrapped up before the end of April.
Repurposed into a No.6 under Arne Slot, if he shows the same composure and technical ability both defensively and offensively over the rest of his contract, the £34.3m spent on the summer 2023 deadline day addition would soon be money well spent.

"I'm super happy for Ryan," Neppe told Sky Sports.
We saw exactly what he is now showing at Liverpool."

Only one year before Gravenberch's arrival on Merseyside, Neppe had convinced his peers to spend on the then-Ajax talent while working as Bayern's technical director.
Ultimately, that ended in Bayern's loss as Neppe and Co.
were put in the position of selling him to the Reds.
