Darwin Nunez’s Liverpool future has been the main topic of conversation to have emerged from Anfield over the last couple of weeks.

Most Liverpool fans gave the striker the benefit of the doubt and believed that he’d come good sooner or later, but after yet another disappointing season where he only contributed to 14 goals, the rumours have picked up once again.

As mentioned, Napoli are the team that seem the most likely to prise Nunez away from Liverpool this summer.

Nunez wasn’t played all that often last term, but that hasn’t stopped Ally McCoist from dubbing the striker as “unbelievable” after Liverpool’s win against Paris Saint-Germain back in March.

And, while speaking to Italian outlet RadioGoal24 via Liverpool Offside, Gargano shared what Nunez has told him about his future.

I told him, Go to Naples!’ He told me, Yes, I’m coming to Naples, I’m waiting to close with Napoli.”

Even though Nunez may not have had that much of an impact on the way things have panned out for Liverpool this season, there’s no denying that he’ll need to be replaced.

This would obviously be far from ideal, especially if Liverpool want to retain the Premier League title next season.
