One of the only real issues in the Liverpool team which won the Premier League last season was an occasional lack of pace.
The Reds won the title at a canter, blowing away the competition and running out more than worthy winners.
However, that does not mean it was all straightforward for Liverpool.
Naturally, they struggled in certain games and at times looked a little one-dimensional.
Darwin Nunez was blisteringly fast, and Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz are no slouches, but the Liverpool squad could definitely have done with a pace injection.
Thankfully, Arne Slot and Richard Hughes have ensured they have been given it this summer.
And according to two of those quick new players – Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez – Liverpool have actually signed someone who may well be the fastest player in world football.

While Ekitike and especially Kerkez are livewires themselves, their pace is nothing compared to Jeremie Frimpong.
Frimpong displayed how fast he is by recording the highest speed in the Premier League on matchday one, and his teammates have clearly been impressed.

Asked by EASFC Mobile on Instagram to name the fastest player in the Liverpool team, Ekitike and Kerkez have no hesitation.
“Jeremie, every day,” says Ekitike.
“Too fast, too quick,” Kerkez agrees.
“I think he’s the fastest in the world,” the Frenchman adds.
“Yeah, I swear,” laughs Kerkez.
Along with Ekitike and Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili joined the panel to decide which player deserves a rating increase on the EAFC game.
As part of the process they were also asked who is the Liverpool player with the best footballing brain.
“It should be Macca,” Kerkez claimed.
He understands the game.”
“Simple things, but he does them well,” Ekitike agreed.
After a process of deliberation, the three Liverpool stars then agreed that Frimpong, the ‘fastest player in the world’ was the most deserving of a ratings increase.
