Alexander Isak’s transfer to Liverpool was undoubtedly the story of the summer.

However, even though the Reds’ fans get to see Isak in a Liverpool shirt this season, they did end up missing out on another long-term target.
“I think it’s a massive blow for Liverpool by the way [not signing Guehi],” Stelling said.
“I thought they had a wonderful transfer window until that deal fell through, and now, they’ve left themselves potentially very short at the back.”
McCoist then shared his opinion and said: “We said that [Liverpool are one injury away from a mess at the back] yesterday, didn’t we?
We actually said in conversation that Guehi’s move to Liverpool could’ve been more important to them than the Isak one.”
Even though Guehi was a complete gentleman about his future away from Crystal Palace, Steve Parish and Oliver Glasner denied him the chance to make his dream move.
Throughout most of the summer transfer window, the Englishman was linked with a Liverpool move, with most fans expecting it to go through.
And, since he only has 12 months left on his current deal at Selhurst Park, this means that he can be signed for nothing by foreign clubs in the January transfer window.
